A drift fix that actually lasts
Most shops (and most DIY kits) replace a worn potentiometer stick with another potentiometer stick. It works for a while, then drifts again. We replace the failing module with a magnetic-sensor joystick that has no contact points to wear out.

What causes drift — and what we change
A traditional joystick uses two carbon resistive tracks with a wiper dragging across them. Every movement scrapes a little material away. Once the track wears or gets contaminated, the controller reads movement that isn't there — that's drift.
1 · Diagnose
We confirm it's the joystick module and not a calibration or firmware quirk before opening anything.
2 · Replace
The worn module comes out and a Hall Effect or TMR joystick goes in — magnetic sensing, no contact wear.
3 · Test
We re-test centre position and full range so there's no snap-back, dead zone or phantom input left.
Stick drift questions
Do you really include the upgraded joysticks for free?
Yes. On PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series controllers, the TMR or Hall Effect joystick itself is included in the $20/$35 repair price — you're paying for the work, and the better part comes with it.
Will the controller still feel the same?
It will. Hall Effect and TMR sticks have the same throw and resistance as the originals — they just sense your movement magnetically instead of through physical contact, so they don't wear out the same way.
How long does a drift repair take?
Most are finished within 24 hours of reaching the workshop. Busier periods or harder-to-source parts can take longer — up to about four weeks in the rare worst case — and we'll always tell you upfront.
Is the repair guaranteed?
Controllers that get Hall Effect or TMR joysticks installed come with a 3-month warranty: if drift returns from physically damaging the sticks in that window, we'll fix it.
