Controller repair FAQ

What do you actually do to fix stick drift?

We replace the worn joystick module with a magnetic Hall Effect or TMR stick. Because those sense movement with a magnet instead of physical contact, there's no track to wear down — so the most common cause of drift is gone for good.

Are the upgraded joysticks included in the price?

On PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series controllers, yes. The TMR or Hall Effect joystick is part of the $20 (one stick) or $35 (both sticks) drift-repair price — you're not billed extra for the better part.

How long does a repair take?

Most repairs are finished within 24 hours of the controller reaching the workshop. In busier periods, or if a part is hard to source, it can take longer — up to about four weeks in the rare worst case — and you'll always be told upfront.

Do you offer a warranty?

Controllers that get Hall Effect or TMR joysticks installed come with a 3-month warranty. If drift returns from physically damaging the sticks within that window, we'll fix it.

What happens if a repair fails or breaks?

If something we did breaks, you'll get a refund plus a renewed replacement. If a replacement isn't possible, the refund reflects the used value of the controller.

Which controllers do you repair?

PlayStation (PS4, PS5, DualSense Edge, PS Portal, PSVR2), Xbox (One, Series S/X, Elite) and Nintendo Switch (Joy-Con for Switch 1 & 2, Switch Pro, Switch Lite joysticks), among others.

How does mail-in work?

Message us first for a quote, pack the controller safely with a note listing the issues and your contact info, then ship it in using the flat-rate option ($5 for 1–3 controllers, $12 for 4–10). We fix it and send it back.

Where are you located?

We're based in Hamilton, Ontario, with drop-off in the city's east end. Exact drop-off details are shared when you book. Mail-in is available right across Canada.

How much does drift repair cost?

$20 for one stick or $35 for both, with the magnetic joystick included on PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series. Mail-in drift repair is a flat $40 door to door.

Do you sell controllers too?

Yes — refurbished PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series controllers with magnetic sticks already installed, from $45. They're listed on Facebook Marketplace and eBay.

Will my controller feel different after the upgrade?

No. Hall Effect and TMR sticks have the same throw and resistance as the originals — they just sense movement magnetically, so they don't wear out the same way.

Can you fix a controller I already tried to repair myself?

Often, yes. Send the details of what was done and what's wrong now, and we'll let you know if it's fixable and what it would cost.

Usually fixed within 24 hours
